Work is about to get underway on the construction of Merimbula’s new Theatre Twyford and that means some alterations to vehicle and pedestrian traffic conditions.
From Wednesday 18 March 2020, alterations to Beach Street vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be made to accommodate the establishment of the construction site for the Theatre Twyford Construction Project.
- The Beach Street loading zone will be relocated to around the corner on Alice Street. Two-way traffic will continue to be maintained on Beach Street, however lane widths will be reduced.
- Pedestrian traffic will be diverted to the lake side of Beach street. This traffic and pedestrian management arrangement will remain for the duration of the project.
- At various times throughout the course of the project, full road closure of Beach street will be implemented to the Market Street end of Beach Street. Access to Alice Street via Beach Street will remain during these closures as will Beach Street parking.
Theatre Twyford will be a purpose-built raked theatre adjacent to the existing Twyford Hall with a seating capacity of 200.
