Getting Here & Around

Parking

The Twyford does not have its own parking, however there is parking on the street and in carparks close by.

The Market St entrance to the Hall has one step, the Beach St entrance to the Hall is level with the footpath.

Our backstage loading dock is still under construction but is expected to open later in 2022. In the meantime, the best places to park for bump in/out are:

  • Beach St outside the Hall entrance (1 hour parallel parking during business hours, unlimited at other times). Don’t park too close to the Market St end near the red No Standing sign!
  • The Bus Stop in Market St in front of Twyford Hall (only park here after 6.30pm Mon-Sat or on Sundays).

Once you’ve bumped in, we recommend you move your vehicle. Whilst all parking in Merimbula is free, most kerbside parking in the centre is time-limited during business hours and we’d hate you to get a parking ticket 🙂

3 hour time limit during business hours, otherwise unlimited:

Being a tourist destination, Merimbula has a wide variety of accommodation options. Those listed below are in order of distance from our venue and are just a few of the available options.

It generally pays to book direct – you can often negotiate a discount in low season, especially if you’re booking multiple rooms. Book well ahead during school holidays (NSW & VIC), long weekends and festival weeks. Whale watching season is August-November.

Apartments &  Holiday Houses

Self-contained apartments or holiday houses are the best option if you need more space, more facilities or are sharing accommodation. Check minimum stay periods, especially in peak season, but off-peak you are often able to negotiate shorter stays by calling direct. AirBNB has a lot of private listings for holiday houses. The Fishpen area of Merimbula is across the bridge from the centre of Merimbula and close to the beach, but still within 15 minutes’ walking distance or 3 minutes’ drive to our venue.
